Overview
The SLSWCA Academy is the official coaching certification body under the Sri Lanka Street Workout and Calisthenics Association. Its purpose is to establish a recognised standard for calisthenics coaching in Sri Lanka, ensure coaches are qualified, up to date, and connected to a growing national network, and provide the public with a trusted directory of certified coaches.
Certification Structure
There are three levels of certification. Each level must be completed in order — you cannot attempt Level 2 without holding a valid Level 3 certificate, and you cannot attempt Level 1 without holding a valid Level 2 certificate.
Level 3 — Foundation Coach
The entry-level certification. Designed to be accessible and welcoming to anyone already active in calisthenics who wants to start coaching. The focus is heavily practical with minimal theory, so athletes already training can transition into coaching without feeling overwhelmed.

Prerequisites
Certification Renewal
All certifications must be renewed every two years. Renewal exists to ensure coaches stay active, remain current with developments in calisthenics, updated guidelines, new training methods, and evolving best practices — and that they have not lost touch with coaching.
The renewal process will involve a short refresher assessment or workshop. Coaches who do not renew by their expiry date will have their certification lapsed and will be removed from the active coach directory until they renew.
What Certified Coaches Receive
If a coach does not renew before their expiry date, their digital license will reflect the lapsed status and they will no longer appear as an active coach on the platform.
Coach Directory and Referrals
SLSWCA will maintain a public-facing directory of all active certified coaches on the SLSWCA website. When anyone — individuals, clubs, schools, or organisations — approaches SLSWCA looking for a coach, they will be directed to this directory and matched based on certification level and their specific needs.
This gives certified coaches real value beyond the certificate — active referrals and recognition as part of the national calisthenics coaching network in Sri Lanka.
Why This Matters
Sri Lanka currently has no standardised certification for calisthenics coaching. The SLSWCA Academy changes that. It sets a national benchmark, protects athletes from unqualified coaching, and gives serious coaches a clear pathway to grow and be recognised. With SLSWCA’s presence across 16 clubs and counting, this certification carries genuine weight in the local calisthenics community from day one.
